Ghala Vasylenko

The metamodernist artist Ghala Vasylenko was born in 1990 in the central part of Ukraine and lives and conducts her artistic activity in France.

Her first economic and auditing education formed the artist's skill of analyzing and calculating mistakes, which became the understanding that not all mistakes need to be corrected, and they can also contain aesthetics. This served as the first push towards inner liberation.

In 2019, Ghala Vasylenko received her art and jewelry education at the Odesa Academy of Jewelry Art. This gave an in-depth understanding of form and material, respect and adherence to canons and created a foundation for the freedom to rethink the concepts of figurativeness and abstraction in her work.

A multi-year process of self-discovery through various spiritual practices has greatly influenced Ghala's artistic vision and shaped her unique visual language.

In 2022, the artist moved to France, where she decided to consciously devote herself to art, combining all her knowledge and making it a way to communicate with and influence the world around her.

In 2023 her paintings were featured in the premiere group exhibition FAMART organised by D'E.M. Venice Art Gallery (Treviso, Italy) and were also published in Artist Talk Magazine, (London, UK), and Artistcloseup Contemporary Art Magazine (Amsterdam, Netherlands).

Ghala is currently preparing for her first solo exhibition of paintings inspired by the country where she was born as an artist.
